Ed Moses–Exhibition Graphics

September 26, 2015  by admin  •  LACMA

My goal was to allude to Ed Moses’ drawings, paper cutouts and sense of imperfection and ordinary that is present in his work without being literal. My solution were 3-D letters made out of plywood with raw exposed edges that were set off from the wall to allow for playfulness of shadows. I also had the letters painted bright orange in the back which gave a subtle glow and a sense of light so prevalent in Moses’ work. Moses’ exhibition shared space with a Drawing in L.A. show, hence change in wall color and transitional bright orange that door jambs were painted in.
